Is SOFI a good investment?
continues to find success in an otherwise mundane sector. It's quite volatile and investors will be ecstatic to know it's up 64% since 2023, albeit still 71% below all time high. Talks about SOFI being a good mid-cap investment are creeping into every forum and folks remain bullish as ever. The San Fran-based company provides various financial products and services like refinancing student loans, personal loans, credit cards, and more.
Let's look at some numbers as of 18/05/24,
To be fair, their brand image is a lot cooler than their peers. They're not much of a FINTECH given their MO but that doesn't matter anyway since banking is moving online. SOFI is currently 1.5x book with a surprising growth trajectory. This one seems like a long term hold to me.
Quality services and high-yield savings accounts are lucrative to many youngsters so they won't have trouble locking in new customers. Moreover, their brand sentiment among 6-figure users seems up too. Many of my friends and family use them for checking/saving/investing. It seems like a decent trade at the moment, what are your thoughts?
Is TD Bank the Best High-Yield Stock for You?
Hey everyone! So, I’ve been looking into Toronto-Dominion Bank (NYSE: ) and thought I’d share some insights. This bank's offering a juicy 5.2% dividend yield, which is way above the industry average. TD Bank can be a solid pick but there a couple risks that come with it.
The Good Stuff
TD Bank is a heavyweight in North America. In Canada, it’s one of the top banks, thanks to a super stable and regulated market. This means TD isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. In the U.S., TD is growing fast, especially on the East Coast, and has a solid balance sheet with a great Tier 1 Ratio, indicating it’s financially sound.
The Not-So-Good Stuff
But hold up, there are some red flags too. The Canadian housing market is cooling off due to higher interest rates, which could mean fewer loans and more defaults. Plus, TD Bank hit a snag in the U.S. last year when regulators blocked its acquisition of a regional bank due to money laundering concerns. This means TD might face fines and will need to rebuild trust with U.S. regulators.
So, Should You Buy?
If you’re in it for the long haul and don’t mind a bit of risk, TD Bank could be a great addition to your portfolio. The high dividend is appealing, and the current low stock price might be a good entry point.
Is TD Bank worth the risk for that high yield? Let’s chat about it in the comments! 🚀

Is it just ME or is PYPL really undervalued?
I have a strong feeling that is very undervalued at it's current price tag. It's moving close to 14 forward PE with a roughly 6% cash flow. At this point, its essentially being priced with no future growth prospects. Not to mention, it's well below the S&P avg.
Although PayPal's competition has risen in the past, with Apple and Square taking the lead, it still reported a 9% revenue growth, 27% EPS hike, and 76% free cash flow in Q1 24. Moreover, they reconsidered their stock buyback program amounting to 5 billion USD.
My theory is that will experience accelerated EPS growth in the coming time due to cost-cutting and this will create a huge playground for risk-reward moves. This brand has been around for decades and considering it's reported growth, it should be trading at least 20 forward PE. This would raise the market cap to 100 billion USD based on its net income of $5B.
Why Scotiabank (BNS) Should Be on Every Investor’s Radar: A Deep Dive into Its Promising Future
Scotiabank is one of my favorite Canadian bank stocks . It's Canada's fourth-largest bank with a market cap of $80.8B, presents a good opportunity for dividends and growth.
What are you guys thinking about Scotiabank and/or Canadian bank stocks in general? Any particular preferences and why?
Investing in US Bank Stocks as an European
So I recently inherited some money ($25,000) from my family and I want to start investing in the US market. I'm (Male 23) from Germany and I'm not very familiar with the US stock market. My goal is to have a well-balanced portfolio that will grow consistently over the next 10 to 15 years. I have and am open to considering ETFs, especially in the banking and green energy sector but I'm open to other stable options as well.
What would be the best starting point for someone like me? Are there any specific brokers or platforms that you'd suggest for international investors like me? Any opinions are welcome and thanks in advance!
